Genuine Mazda 9YA9-91-004 Rear Toe Control Arm to Knuckle Pinch Bolt

Replacement Genuine Mazda rear toe-control arm pinch bolt for Mazda MX-5 Mk3, Mk3.5 and Mk3.75 NC models.

This bolt passes horizontally through the rear wheel knuckle and clamps the outer ball-joint pin of the rear toe-control arm securely in position.

The toe-control arm helps control the rear wheel’s toe angle as the suspension moves. Secure retention of the outer ball joint is therefore important for maintaining stable rear suspension geometry and predictable vehicle handling.

These bolts are exposed to road salt, water and debris and can seize inside the wheel knuckle. Replacement may be necessary if the original bolt has snapped, become heavily corroded, suffered thread damage or been damaged during suspension dismantling.

Fitment advice: This bolt is intended for the outer rear toe-control arm ball-joint connection at the wheel knuckle. Several visually similar bolts are used throughout the NC rear suspension, so confirm the original mounting position and Mazda part number before installation.

Other items to consider: Inspect the corresponding retaining nut, toe-control arm ball-joint pin, rubber dust boot, wheel-knuckle bore and the bolt on the opposite side. Replace the toe-control arm if the ball-joint pin, boot or joint itself is damaged.

Useful tools / consumables: Suitable socket and spanner set, breaker bar, penetrating fluid, calibrated torque wrench, wire brush, ball-joint or suspension support equipment and corrosion-resistant assembly compound where permitted by the Mazda workshop procedure.
