Genuine Mazda G-NC0-6-001 Engine Oil Sump Drain Plug & Washer Kit

Genuine Mazda engine-oil sump drain plug and sealing-washer kit for Mazda MX-5 Mk3, Mk3.5 and Mk3.75 NC models with 1.8 or 2.0 petrol engines.

The threaded drain plug seals the service opening in the engine oil sump. Removing the plug allows the used engine oil to drain during servicing, while the replaceable washer seals between the plug head and sump when the plug is refitted.

The sealing washer is compressed during tightening and should normally be renewed whenever the sump plug is removed. Reusing a flattened, damaged or hardened washer can allow engine oil to seep from the drain-plug area.

The complete plug may require replacement where its hexagon has become rounded, its threads are damaged, the sealing face is corroded or an incorrect plug has previously been installed.
