The Pipercross PP1268 is a direct-fit Performance Panel Air Filter designed to replace the original disposable air-filter element inside the standard Mazda MX-5 NB airbox.

Important Fitment Note

PP1268 is intended for MX-5 Mk2 / NB and Mk2.5 / NB-FL models retaining the standard air-filter housing. Modified induction systems or vehicles no longer using the original-style airbox will require the fitted filter arrangement to be checked before ordering.

Factory turbo applications are not included in the confirmed vehicle allocation below because the relevant turbo intake and airbox configuration has not been sufficiently verified for PP1268.

Typical Reasons for Replacement / Upgrade

Suitable when replacing a dirty, damaged or ageing standard air-filter element, or where a washable and reusable Pipercross performance filter is preferred in place of a conventional disposable paper filter.

Fitment Advice

PP1268 fits directly into the original Mazda airbox in place of the existing filter element. Remove the old filter, clean any loose debris from the housing and install the Pipercross filter with the sealing edge correctly seated before closing the airbox.

For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number, dimensions and intake specification of the component being replaced is recommended.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The Pipercross performance foam element is washable and reusable. When servicing is required, remove loose contamination, apply an appropriate Pipercross air-filter cleaner, rinse using warm low-pressure water and allow the filter to dry naturally before refitting.

Pipercross Dirt Retention Additive may be used where appropriate but is not automatically required for normal road use. Avoid excessive application.
