Mishimoto MMGRT-215 Heat Defence Protective Tape is a universal self-adhesive thermal-management product designed to reflect radiant heat and help protect heat-sensitive components.
Supplied as a 2" wide x 15' long roll, the tape is constructed from highly reflective metallised polyimide film laminated to glass cloth using a high-temperature adhesive. This combination provides a lightweight reflective barrier that can be applied to suitable surfaces where protection from nearby radiant heat is required.
Mishimoto rates the Heat Defence Tape to withstand up to 675°F / approximately 357°C of radiant heat. A high-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive on the rear of the tape allows it to self-adhere, with a removable protective backing making it straightforward to cut and apply as required.
As a universal thermal-management product, the roll can be cut to suit the installation and is particularly useful where surrounding components require additional shielding from radiant heat within an engine bay or other high-temperature automotive environment.

Installation
The tape can be cut to the required shape and size before application. For best adhesion, the receiving surface should be clean, dry and free from oil, grease and contamination before the protective backing is removed and the tape is applied.
