RIDEX 402B0632 Front Brake Pad Set – MX-5 Mk3 NC
Replacement RIDEX front brake-pad set for Mazda MX-5 Mk3/NC, Mk3.5/NC-FL and Mk3.75/NC-FL2 1.8 and 2.0-litre models listed in the compatibility table.
The pads fit inside the front brake calipers and clamp against the brake discs when hydraulic pressure is applied. The resulting friction converts the vehicle’s movement into heat and slows the vehicle.
This is a complete front-axle set containing sufficient pads for both front calipers. The pads comply with the ECE-R90 replacement-brake-lining standard and use a low-metallic, semi-metallic asbestos-free friction compound.
Wear-warning note: These pads are not prepared for an electronic wear-warning indicator. Check the original braking arrangement before installation if the vehicle has been modified.
Common reasons for replacement include reduced friction-material thickness, brake noise, uneven pad wear, deterioration of the backing plates, contamination, reduced braking performance or replacement alongside worn or corroded front brake discs.

Fitment advice: These pads are confirmed for the standard front braking arrangement used across the listed Mazda MX-5 Mk3/NC 1.8 and 2.0-litre variants. Match the original pad profile, 123.1 × 58.3 × 15 mm dimensions, WVA 24297 and relevant Mazda OE reference before installation. Modified calipers or aftermarket brake conversions may require a different pad shape.
Other items to consider: Inspect the front brake discs, caliper pistons, slider pins, dust boots, flexible brake hoses and brake-fluid condition. Heavily scored, corroded, distorted or undersized discs should be replaced as a front-axle pair.
Useful tools / consumables: Vehicle lift or trolley jack and axle stands, wheel-removal tools, socket and spanner set, torque wrench, caliper-piston retraction tool, brake cleaner, approved slider-pin lubricant and suitable protective gloves and eyewear.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Moderate. Replacement requires secure support of the vehicle, correct retraction of the front caliper pistons and inspection of the caliper sliders and brake discs.
Why RIDEX? RIDEX braking components provide a cost-effective aftermarket servicing option manufactured to application-specific dimensions. These pads comply with ECE-R90 requirements and are designed to provide consistent braking when installed with serviceable calipers and brake discs.
What’s in the box: One complete RIDEX front brake-pad set for both front calipers. Brake discs, caliper slider components, pad-retaining hardware and fitting consumables are not included unless physically present in the supplied package.
Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove both front wheels. Remove the calipers and support them without allowing their weight to hang from the flexible brake hoses. Inspect the discs, caliper pistons, slider pins, dust boots and pad-contact surfaces. Clean the caliper carriers and apply suitable brake lubricant only to approved sliding and contact points, keeping lubricant away from the pad friction material and disc surfaces. Retract the caliper pistons using an appropriate tool, install the pads in the correct orientation and refit the calipers using the applicable tightening specifications. Operate the brake pedal until firm before moving the vehicle, check the brake-fluid level and bed in the new pads according to the brake-pad manufacturer’s instructions.
