Fitment advice: MazSpec confirms this timing belt for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA and Mk2/NB models with 1.6 and 1.8-litre engines through 2005, including the later NB-FL 1.8 VVT and 1.8i Turbo applications. Compare the original belt specification and relevant OE reference where the engine has been swapped or modified.

Installation notes: Follow the applicable Mazda engine-timing procedure before removing the original belt. Position the engine at the specified timing reference point and verify all crankshaft and camshaft timing marks. Inspect the tensioner, guide pulley, water pump and oil-seal areas for wear or leakage. Install the replacement belt in the correct direction and routing, apply the specified tensioning procedure and rotate the engine manually through the required number of revolutions before rechecking all timing marks. Do not start the engine until correct valve timing and belt tension have been confirmed.
