RIDEX PLUS 305P0020P Power Steering & Air Conditioning Auxiliary Belt
Replacement RIDEX PLUS power-steering and air-conditioning auxiliary belt for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and Mk2.5/NB-FL models fitted with factory air conditioning and listed in the compatibility table.
The auxiliary belt transfers rotation from the crankshaft pulley to the power-steering pump and air-conditioning compressor. This allows the hydraulic power-steering system to provide steering assistance while driving the air-conditioning compressor.
This is a four-rib, one-sided EPDM belt measuring 950 mm long. One belt is required for the applicable power-steering and air-conditioning drive position, and one belt is supplied.
Important: This belt is intended for vehicles equipped with factory air conditioning. Models without air conditioning use a different belt arrangement.
Common reasons for replacement include cracking between the ribs, fraying, glazing, stretching, contamination, belt squeal, intermittent power-steering assistance, reduced air-conditioning performance or visible deterioration during routine servicing.

Fitment advice: This belt is intended for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and Mk2.5/NB-FL models equipped with the corresponding factory air-conditioning and power-steering drive arrangement. Models without air conditioning require a different belt. Accessory-drive specification can vary where engines, compressors, power-steering pumps or pulleys have previously been changed. Match the Mazda reference, four-rib profile and original belt length before installation.
Other items to consider: When changing this part, you may also want to consider purchasing the separate alternator and water-pump belt, power-steering adjustment hardware, air-conditioning idler or tensioner components, crankshaft pulley and any worn or corroded belt-adjustment fixings.
Useful tools / consumables: Socket and spanner set, extension bars, torque wrench, belt-tension gauge where available, inspection lamp, belt-routing reference and suitable protective gloves.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Replacement requires loosening the applicable power-steering or air-conditioning adjustment mechanism, routing the new belt correctly and setting the belt tension without overtightening it.
Why RIDEX PLUS? RIDEX PLUS components are developed as an enhanced aftermarket range, combining application-specific fitment with upgraded product construction and quality control. They provide a cost-effective premium replacement option for routine servicing, repair and vehicle refurbishment.
What’s in the box: One RIDEX PLUS 950 mm four-rib power-steering and air-conditioning auxiliary belt. The separate alternator and water-pump belt, pulleys and tensioning hardware are not included.
Installation notes: Allow the engine to cool and note the existing belt-routing path before removal. Loosen the applicable pump, compressor or adjustment fixings and release the belt tension gradually. Remove the old belt and inspect the crankshaft, power-steering and air-conditioning pulleys for damaged grooves, corrosion, misalignment or rough bearings. Route the replacement belt correctly and ensure that all four ribs sit fully within the pulley grooves. Adjust the tension according to the applicable vehicle specification; excessive tension can damage accessory bearings, while insufficient tension can cause slipping and squealing. Tighten all adjustment and mounting fixings correctly, rotate the engine manually where appropriate and recheck belt seating and tension. Start the engine and confirm that the belt tracks centrally without abnormal noise, vibration or movement towards the edge of any pulley.
