Fits Mazda MX-5 Mk4 / ND and RF 1.5 models using the 258mm vented front brake discs with Advics front calipers. EBC currently verifies this application from 2015-2025.

Yellowstuff Brake Pads

EBC Yellowstuff is a high-friction performance brake pad developed primarily for fast-road use. It provides strong braking performance from cold together with increased resistance to repeated heavy braking, making it well suited to enthusiast-driven MX-5s where greater braking capability is required than from a conventional everyday replacement pad.

The DP42263R pads are fully shimmed, slotted and chamfered and incorporate EBC's Brake-In™ surface coating to assist initial bedding. The Yellowstuff range is designed as a road-legal performance upgrade and this application is ECE R90 approved.

EBC currently positions Yellowstuff principally as a fast-street / fast-road compound. For cars intended for sustained circuit use, EBC recommends moving to Bluestuff or one of its dedicated motorsport compounds, which are better suited to repeated track use and shorter bedding requirements.

EBC Premium OE Replacement Brake Discs

The matching D2144 discs are EBC Premium plain brake discs designed as direct replacements for the original front rotors. They retain the original 258mm diameter, 22mm thickness and 4 x 100mm mounting arrangement used by the compatible 1.5-litre MX-5 ND / RF front braking system.

The conventional plain braking surface makes this kit particularly suitable for customers wanting the increased friction characteristics of Yellowstuff pads while retaining an OE-style front disc rather than moving to a grooved, slotted or dimpled performance rotor.

Fitment Advice:

This kit is specifically for the 1.5-litre MX-5 ND / RF using 258mm vented front discs with Advics front calipers.

The 2.0-litre MX-5 ND / RF uses a larger 280mm front disc and requires a different EBC kit, so PD03KF1521 should not be selected simply because the vehicle is an MX-5 Mk4.

For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number or component style on the part being replaced is recommended.

Brake discs should be installed onto thoroughly cleaned and corrosion-free hub faces. Disc runout should be checked where appropriate and all fasteners tightened to the correct Mazda torque specifications.

New pads and discs should be progressively bedded according to EBC's current bedding procedure before sustained heavy braking.
