Yellowstuff Brake Pads

EBC Yellowstuff is a high-friction performance brake pad developed for fast-road driving and performance vehicles where increased braking capability is required. It provides effective braking from cold, making it suitable for a road-driven MX-5 while offering greater performance capability than a conventional everyday replacement pad.

The DP41775R pads are fully shimmed, slotted and chamfered and incorporate EBC's Brake-In™ surface coating to assist the initial bedding process. Yellowstuff is ECE R90 approved for European road use.

EBC currently positions Yellowstuff primarily as a fast-street / fast-road compound and no longer recommends it as the preferred choice for dedicated track use. For cars that will see repeated circuit use and sustained higher brake temperatures, EBC recommends moving to Bluestuff or one of its more track-focused compounds.

EBC Premium OE Replacement Brake Discs

The matching D2100 discs are EBC Premium plain brake discs designed as direct replacements for the original rear rotors. They retain the 255mm diameter, solid construction and 4 x 100mm mounting arrangement used by the compatible 1.5-litre MX-5 ND / RF rear braking system.

EBC Premium replacement rotors are manufactured from G3000 specification cast iron and current production uses EBC's Gen 3 Silver Grey corrosion-resistant finish. The plain braking surface makes this kit particularly suitable for customers wanting the increased friction characteristics of Yellowstuff pads while retaining an OE-style rear disc design.

Fitment Advice:

This kit is specifically for the 1.5-litre MX-5 ND / RF rear braking system using 255mm solid rear discs and Sumitomo rear calipers.

The 2.0-litre MX-5 ND / RF uses a larger 280mm rear brake disc and requires a different EBC kit.

For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number or component style on the part being replaced is recommended.

Rear brake discs should be installed onto thoroughly cleaned and corrosion-free hub faces. Care should be taken when retracting the rear caliper pistons and servicing the parking-brake mechanism. All fasteners should be tightened to the appropriate Mazda torque specifications.

New pads and discs should be progressively bedded according to EBC's current bedding procedure before sustained heavy braking.
