Red Line 80312 Assembly Lube - 118ml Pot
High-performance Red Line assembly lubricant for new and rebuilt engines, drivetrains and other compatible mechanical assemblies requiring protection before normal operating lubrication is established.
Red Line Assembly Lube is designed to coat potential wear surfaces before assembly, helping prevent metal-to-metal contact during the critical period immediately after initial start-up and before normal oil pressure reaches all lubricated components.
Red Line states that its formulation provides approximately three times the film strength of conventional black molybdenum disulphide greases. It is made from lubricant-compatible components, allowing it to mix with the operating oil rather than remaining as a contaminant, and is formulated not to plug the oil filter after initial start-up.
Typical applications include camshafts, lifters and followers, pushrods, piston skirts, main bearings, connecting-rod bearings and bolt threads. The product also provides strong rust and corrosion protection, making it useful where freshly assembled engines or components may be stored before being put into service.

Fitment advice: Assembly Lube is application-based rather than vehicle-specific. Use on compatible lubricated surfaces during engine or drivetrain assembly where a high-film-strength pre-lubricant is appropriate.
Application guidance: Apply a thin, even coating to the required mating or wear surfaces. Red Line specifically advises using only a small amount on bearing and piston surfaces, as excessive assembly lube can make the engine difficult to turn over during initial cranking.
Storage protection: The formulation provides strong corrosion protection and may be used on suitable machined surfaces where assembled or prepared components will be stored before final use.
Important application note: Do not use Red Line Assembly Lube on exhaust bolts or other high-temperature fasteners that require a dedicated anti-seize compound.
