BC Racing N-04-ZX ZX Series 3-Way Coilover Kit
BC Racing ZX Series coilover kit for Mazda MX-5 Mk1 NA and Mk2 / Mk2.5 NB / NB-FL 1989–2005 applications listed in the compatibility table.
The ZX Series is BC Racing's track and competition-focused three-way adjustable suspension range, providing independent control of low-speed compression, high-speed compression and rebound damping for extensive suspension setup flexibility.
The ZX system uses an upright monotube damper design with digressive piston valving, dual-piston construction and external reservoirs. This allows the suspension response to be tuned in considerably greater detail than a conventional single or two-way adjustable coilover, making the ZX Series particularly suitable for demanding track-day and motorsport applications.
Low-speed compression provides 20 adjustment positions, high-speed compression provides 12 adjustment positions and rebound provides 30 adjustment positions. This MazSpec-supplied N-04-ZX configuration uses 10 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear springs.

Fitment advice: Designed for Mazda MX-5 / Miata NA and NB platform applications from 1989–2005, including the confirmed naturally aspirated 1.6 and 1.8 applications listed in the compatibility table. For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the vehicle generation, chassis code, suspension layout and kit reference is recommended before ordering.
Other items to consider: When fitting or setting up this product, you may also want to consider purchasing replacement suspension fasteners, anti-roll bar links, suspension bushes and any worn suspension arms or ball joints. For a track-focused installation, professional four-wheel alignment and corner-weighting should also be considered once the final ride height has been established.
Useful tools / consumables: Suitable vehicle lifting equipment and axle stands, socket and spanner set, torque wrench, penetrating fluid, anti-seize compound and the appropriate BC Racing coilover adjustment tools. Professional alignment and suspension setup equipment will be required for final geometry and damper setup.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Advanced. Installation involves replacement of the complete front and rear suspension, positioning and securing the external reservoir assemblies and subsequent ride-height, geometry and damper setup. Professional installation and setup are recommended for a three-way adjustable suspension system of this type.
Why BC Racing? BC Racing ZX Series suspension is designed for demanding track and competition use where a high degree of suspension control is required. Independent low-speed compression, high-speed compression and rebound adjustment, combined with digressive valving, monotube construction and external reservoirs, provides extensive scope for tailoring the suspension to different circuits, tyres, driving styles and vehicle setups.
What’s in the box: Complete four-corner BC Racing ZX Series coilover suspension kit with front and rear dampers, 10 kg/mm front springs, 8 kg/mm rear springs, external reservoir assemblies, adjustment hardware and associated components supplied with the N-04-ZX kit.
Installation / setup notes: The external reservoirs must be positioned and secured correctly during installation. Ride height and damping should be set methodically, beginning from a known baseline and making controlled adjustments. Once the required ride height has been established, all mounting hardware should be tightened to the appropriate specification and a full four-wheel geometry alignment carried out before final suspension tuning. This MazSpec-supplied N-04-ZX configuration uses 10 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear springs.
