Bluestuff NDX Brake Pads

EBC Bluestuff NDX is a high-friction 0.52 Mu performance compound developed to bridge the gap between serious fast-road and trackday braking. EBC positions Bluestuff NDX for drivers who regularly attend trackdays or entry-level club events while still requiring a pad with useful cold performance for driving to and from the circuit.

The pads are heat scorched during manufacture to assist the bedding process and are designed to provide consistent pedal feel and strong fade resistance under more demanding braking conditions. Bluestuff NDX is R90 approved on most applications; the exact approval applicable to the vehicle should be checked where road-use certification is required.

EBC GD Sport Brake Discs

The matching GD1197 rear discs use EBC's GD Sport wide-aperture groove and blind-dimple pattern. The grooves help clear water, brake dust, gases and debris from the pad contact area while promoting more consistent pad contact during repeated braking.

The dimples provide a degassing effect without passing completely through the disc. They should therefore not be confused with conventional fully cross-drilled brake discs.

The GD1197 retains the original 280mm diameter, 10mm thickness and 5 x 114.3mm mounting arrangement used by the compatible MX-5 NC rear braking system, making it a direct-fit performance replacement without requiring a brake conversion.

Rear brake discs should be installed onto clean, corrosion-free hub faces. Particular care should be taken when servicing the rear calipers because the MX-5 rear braking system incorporates the handbrake mechanism into the caliper assembly. All fasteners should be tightened to the appropriate Mazda torque specification.

New pads and discs should be bedded progressively in accordance with EBC's current bedding-in procedure before sustained heavy braking or circuit use.
