Genuine Mazda Sport Front Strut / Chassis Brace and Fixings Kit

Complete Genuine Mazda front strut and chassis brace kit for all Mazda MX-5 Mk3, Mk3.5 and Mk3.75 NC models with 1.8- or 2.0-litre petrol engines.

This is the original three-piece brace arrangement fitted to 2.0 Sport models. It can also be installed as a complete Genuine Mazda chassis-stiffness upgrade on compatible non-Sport MX-5 NC models.

The assembly consists of a centre brace and separate left- and right-hand side braces. Together, the components connect the front suspension-tower and upper bulkhead areas to increase structural support across the front of the vehicle.

The kit also includes the brace-compatible air-cowl mounting panel and eight Genuine Mazda flanged retaining nuts. This allows vehicles not originally equipped with the factory brace to receive the required supporting panel and mounting hardware.

Original-equipment application: The brace arrangement was originally installed on MX-5 NC 2.0 Sport models.

Upgrade application: The complete kit can be fitted to compatible 1.8- and non-Sport 2.0-litre NC models as a Genuine Mazda chassis-bracing upgrade.

Fitment advice: Although the brace was originally fitted to 2.0 Sport models, this complete kit contains the principal components required for installation on compatible non-Sport MX-5 NC models.

Cowl-panel information: The supplied NE57-56-35XA air-cowl panel is the brace-compatible version required around the rear brace mounting area. Vehicles not originally equipped with the Sport brace may require the original panel to be removed and replaced with this component.

Compatibility inspection: Inspect the vehicle for previous repairs, modified intake or induction components, aftermarket suspension equipment and accessories positioned around the bulkhead or suspension towers. Non-standard components may affect brace clearance.

Replacement advice: Check all mounting studs, threaded locations and body contact surfaces before installation. The kit will not correct damaged threads, distorted body mounting points or structural damage around the suspension towers.

Other items to inspect: Check the front suspension top mounts, suspension-tower seams, cowl drainage area, windscreen-cowl seals, brake-fluid reservoir area and surrounding wiring or hoses while access is available.

Useful tools / consumables: Socket and spanner set, trim-removal tools, calibrated torque wrench, penetrating fluid, panel-cleaning materials and suitable corrosion-protection treatment where required.

Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Moderate. Installation requires removal of components around the rear of the engine bay and cowl area, replacement of the supplied air-cowl panel and careful positioning of all three brace sections.

Installation notes: Allow the vehicle to cool and remove the necessary engine-bay and cowl-area trim to access the mounting positions. Remove the existing air-cowl panel where required and install the supplied brace-compatible panel. Position the left, right and centre brace sections loosely before final tightening. Confirm that all sections align naturally without forcing or preloading the body mounting points. Install the supplied nuts by hand initially, then tighten the complete assembly progressively using the applicable Mazda procedure. Confirm clearance around hoses, wiring, reservoirs, intake components and moving parts before driving the vehicle.
