Genuine Mazda Windscreen Cowl Screw Cover Kit – Pair

Replacement Genuine Mazda windscreen cowl screw-cover kit for all Mazda MX-5 Mk3, Mk3.5 and Mk3.75 NC models produced from 2005 to 2015.

The small oval plastic covers fit into the windscreen cowl grille at the left- and right-hand ends of the panel. Each cover conceals the retaining screw and provides the cowl area with its original finished appearance.

The original covers can become brittle after prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat and weather. Their retaining tabs may break when the covers are removed to access the cowl screws, and loose covers can also fall out and become lost.

One cover is fitted on each side of the vehicle. This listing supplies a complete pair of two Genuine Mazda covers, sufficient for one vehicle.

Component distinction: These are the visible plastic screw covers only. The cowl retaining screws and the sealing screw grommets fitted beneath the cowl are separate components and are not included.

Water-ingress note: Replacing these visible covers alone will not normally repair a leaking cowl mounting. Where water is entering the footwell, inspect the separate screw grommets and their integral seals beneath the cowl grille.

Other items to consider: Inspect both cowl retaining screws, the sealing grommets beneath the cowl, the plastic cowl grille and the surrounding drainage channels. Genuine Mazda sealing grommet BJ0J-50-798 is available separately.

Useful tools / consumables: Plastic trim-removal tool and a suitable screwdriver where access to the retaining screws is also required.

Installation notes: Remove any remaining damaged cover fragments from the cowl grille and inspect the opening for broken retaining tabs or debris. Align the replacement cover with the aperture and press it evenly into position until its retaining tabs engage. Do not force the cover at an angle, as this may damage the clips. Repeat at the opposite side and confirm that both covers sit flush and remain securely retained.
