Goodridge SMA0111-4C is a four-line stainless steel braided brake hose kit for Mazda MX-5 MK2 / MK2.5 (NB) models fitted with the Big Brake package, designed to replace the vehicle's original flexible brake hoses.

This vehicle-specific Goodridge Premium Performance Brake Line Kit features a PTFE inner core wrapped in a stainless steel braided outer and is supplied with stainless steel hose-end fittings. The kit contains four flexible brake lines for the front and rear braking system and is specifically intended for NB models using the larger brake configuration.

Important Fitment Information

This kit is for Mazda MX-5 NB models fitted with the Big Brake system. On UK-market cars this is most commonly associated with MK2.5 Sport models using approximately 270mm front brake discs. It should not be confused with the Goodridge kit for MX-5 MK1 / MK2 / MK2.5 models using the standard brake system.

Before ordering, confirm that your vehicle uses the larger Big Brake front brake arrangement. The Big Brake application uses different front flexible brake hoses from the standard braking system.

Fitment

Goodridge lists SMA0111-4C for Mazda MX-5 NB models from 1998-2005 equipped with the Big Brake package. The critical fitment distinction is the braking system rather than simply the model year: vehicles using the standard front brake arrangement require a different brake hose kit.

The larger brake arrangement is particularly associated with 1.8-litre Sport and equivalent high-specification NB applications. Check the existing front brake disc and hose configuration before ordering if the vehicle's original specification is uncertain.

Installation

Installation requires opening the hydraulic braking system, so the system must be correctly bled using suitable brake fluid after fitting. Check hose routing and clearance through the full range of steering and suspension movement before returning the vehicle to service.

When changing the brake hoses you may want to consider also purchasing fresh brake fluid and checking the condition of the brake pipe unions, hose retaining clips, bleed nipples, brake pads and discs.
