RIDEX 654W0205 Front Wheel Bearing Kit with ABS Sensor Ring
Replacement RIDEX front wheel-bearing kit for selected Mazda 2, Mazda 3, Mazda 5 and Mazda 6 models listed in the compatibility table.
The wheel bearing supports the rotating front wheel hub while maintaining its correct position within the steering knuckle. It allows the wheel and hub to rotate smoothly while carrying vehicle weight and withstanding braking and cornering loads.
This press-fit bearing is installed inside the front steering knuckle and incorporates a magnetic sensor ring for the ABS wheel-speed system. One bearing is fitted on each side of the front axle and one bearing kit is supplied. Two kits are required when replacing both front sides.
Common symptoms of wheel-bearing wear include humming, rumbling or droning that increases with road speed, vibration through the steering or body, excessive wheel movement, uneven tyre wear and ABS or stability-control warnings if the integrated magnetic sensor ring becomes damaged.

Fitment advice: This bearing is suitable only for vehicles using one of the corresponding Mazda references listed in the reference table. Application can vary within the listed Mazda model ranges according to engine, drivetrain, hub and steering-knuckle specification. The magnetic sensor side of the bearing must face the vehicle’s ABS wheel-speed sensor when installed. For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number or component style on the part being replaced is recommended.
Other items to consider: When changing this part, you may also want to consider purchasing the opposite-side wheel bearing, wheel hub, driveshaft nut, bearing retaining ring, hub or knuckle fixings, ABS wheel-speed sensor, brake-disc fixings and replacement self-locking nuts.
Useful tools / consumables: Vehicle lift or trolley jack and axle stands, wheel-removal tools, socket and breaker-bar set, driveshaft-nut socket, torque wrench, ball-joint and track-rod separators, hydraulic press, correctly sized bearing drifts, bearing splitter or hub puller, circlip pliers, penetrating fluid, brake cleaner and anti-corrosion compound.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Advanced. Replacement normally requires removal of the steering knuckle, separation of the wheel hub from the old bearing and use of a hydraulic press. Incorrect support or pressing can damage the new bearing, hub or steering knuckle.
Why RIDEX? RIDEX parts are aftermarket replacement components designed to provide a cost-effective repair option for everyday vehicle maintenance and refurbishment. They are intended to replace the original component on the applications listed, helping restore function while keeping repair costs sensible.
What’s in the box: One RIDEX front wheel-bearing kit with integrated magnetic ABS sensor ring. The exact supply of retaining rings, nuts or other separate installation hardware should be confirmed from the physical package.
Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove the road wheel, brake components, driveshaft connection and steering knuckle as required. Remove the wheel hub and old bearing using suitable pressing and support tools. Clean and inspect the hub and knuckle before installation. Identify the magnetic sensor side of the new bearing and install it facing the ABS wheel-speed sensor. Press only against the correct bearing race during each stage to avoid transmitting force through the rolling elements. Refit the retaining components and hub, use new self-locking fixings where specified and tighten all driveshaft, suspension, brake and wheel fasteners to the applicable vehicle specifications. Check for bearing play and confirm correct ABS operation after installation.
