Typical Reasons for Replacement / Upgrade

PP1773 is suitable when replacing a dirty or ageing standard air-filter element, or where a reusable performance filter is preferred in place of the conventional disposable paper element.

Fitment Advice

PP1773 fits directly inside the original Mazda airbox and does not require replacement of the complete intake system. Open the air-filter housing, remove the existing element and install the Pipercross filter in the same position and orientation.

Check that the sealing edge sits correctly around the airbox before securing the housing. For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number, dimensions and intake specification of the component being replaced is recommended.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The Pipercross foam filter is washable and reusable. Remove loose debris before applying Pipercross Air Filter Cleaner, rinse using warm low-pressure water from the clean side towards the dirty side and allow the filter to dry naturally before refitting.

Pipercross describes Dirt Retention Additive as optional where appropriate. If used, only a light application should be applied and excessive treatment should be avoided.
