Suitable when replacing a dirty, damaged or ageing standard air-filter element, or where a washable and reusable Pipercross performance filter is preferred in place of a conventional disposable paper filter.

Fitment Advice

PP72 fits directly into the original Mazda MX-5 NA airbox and is suitable for both 1.6 and 1.8-litre applications retaining the standard filter housing. Remove the existing filter, clear loose debris from the airbox and install the Pipercross element with the sealing perimeter correctly seated before securing the housing.

For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number, dimensions and intake specification of the component being replaced is recommended.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The Pipercross performance foam filter is washable and reusable. When servicing is required, remove loose contamination, apply an appropriate Pipercross air-filter cleaner, rinse using warm low-pressure water and allow the filter to dry naturally before refitting.

Pipercross Dirt Retention Additive may be used where appropriate but is not automatically required for normal road use. Avoid excessive application.
