The rear subframe is the main structural mounting member for key rear suspension and driveline components. It supports the rear lower arms, suspension links, differential mounting area and related rear axle components, helping maintain correct suspension geometry, wheel alignment and chassis rigidity.

There is typically one rear subframe / rear crossmember fitted per vehicle. It is located underneath the rear of the vehicle and forms the central mounting structure for the rear suspension assembly.

For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the Mazda part number from the original rear subframe is the best way to confirm the correct replacement style before fitting.
