Red Line Limited Slip Friction Modifier is designed to fine-tune the friction characteristics of clutch-type limited-slip differentials, helping eliminate differential chatter while retaining the amount of clutch engagement required for effective limited-slip operation.
Red Line recommends adding approximately 28ml / 1oz at a time until chatter disappears. For established limited-slip units, a typical concentration is approximately 4%, while approximately 4–8% may be used during the break-in of new differentials.
The product can also be used as a differential break-in additive. Red Line states that it can reduce break-in temperatures by as much as 50°F / approximately 10°C, helping limit excessive heat while new gear surfaces bed in. It is compatible with both petroleum and synthetic gear oils.
