The air filter is installed inside the engine air-filter housing and removes dust, grit, insects and other airborne contamination before the intake air reaches the throttle body and engine.

A clean filter helps maintain unrestricted airflow, stable engine performance and appropriate fuel consumption while protecting the mass-airflow sensor, throttle body, intake system and internal engine components from abrasive contamination.

Common reasons for replacement include scheduled servicing, visible contamination, damaged or distorted filter media, reduced acceleration, increased fuel consumption, poor engine response or contamination inside the airbox.

Installation notes: Switch off the engine and allow the engine bay to cool where necessary. Release the airbox retaining clips or screws and lift the upper housing carefully without pulling on the mass-airflow sensor wiring or intake duct. Note the orientation of the original filter before removal. Clean loose contamination from the airbox without allowing debris to enter the clean side of the intake. Install the replacement filter squarely and ensure that its sealing edge sits evenly around the complete housing. Refit the airbox lid without trapping or distorting the filter and secure every clip or fixing. Confirm that the intake duct, breather connections and electrical plugs are secure before starting the engine.
