Replacement pair of RIDEX internally vented front brake discs for Mazda MX-5 Mk4/ND, Mk4.5/ND-FL and Mk4.75/ND-FL2 1.5-litre models, including convertible and RF applications listed in the compatibility table.

The brake discs rotate with the front wheel hubs and provide the friction surfaces against which the brake pads clamp. This converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy into heat and slows the vehicle.

These internally vented cast-iron discs measure 258 mm in diameter and 22 mm thick. The ventilation channels between the braking surfaces help dissipate heat during repeated braking.

Quantity: This MazSpec listing supplies two brake discs, sufficient for the complete front axle. The RIDEX manufacturer part number identifies the individual disc specification.

Important: These discs are intended for Mazda MX-5 ND and RF 1.5-litre models. The 2.0-litre MX-5 uses a larger 280 mm front brake disc, available separately under RIDEX part number 82B2183.

Fitment advice: These discs correspond with Mazda references D09T-33-251, DA6A-33-251A and DA7R-33-251. For the Mazda MX-5, they are intended for ND and RF 1.5-litre models using the 258 × 22 mm front brake-disc arrangement. Do not allocate them to the 2.0-litre MX-5. Compare the original disc diameter, thickness, height, hub-centre diameter and OE reference where the braking system has previously been modified.

Other items to consider: Brake discs should normally be replaced in axle pairs together with a new front brake-pad set. Also inspect the brake-caliper slider pins, piston seals, pad fitting hardware, flexible brake hoses, wheel-hub faces and brake-fluid condition.

Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove both front wheels. Remove the brake calipers and support them without allowing their weight to hang from the flexible hoses. Remove the caliper carriers and existing discs. Clean the wheel-hub faces thoroughly and remove corrosion or debris that could cause disc run-out. Degrease the braking surfaces of the new discs using suitable brake cleaner. Install each disc squarely against its hub and refit the caliper carriers and calipers using the applicable tightening specifications. Fit new brake pads where appropriate and ensure the caliper sliders move freely. Refit the wheels and tighten the wheel nuts to the correct torque. Operate the brake pedal until firm before moving the vehicle, then bed in the new discs and pads according to the brake-pad manufacturer’s instructions.
