Replacement RIDEX flexible brake hose for the rear-right / UK offside of Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and applicable Mk2.5/NB-FL models fitted with the standard braking system.

The flexible brake hose carries pressurised brake fluid between the vehicle’s rigid hydraulic brake pipe and the moving rear brake caliper. Its flexible construction allows suspension and wheel movement while maintaining hydraulic pressure during braking.

Important fitment restriction: Mk2.5/NB-FL vehicles fitted with the factory big-brake system require a different hose. This hose should therefore be allocated only to vehicles retaining the applicable standard rear brake arrangement.

Side identification: This is the rear-right hose, which is the offside on UK right-hand-drive vehicles. The matching rear-left / UK nearside hose is RIDEX 83B0232.

Fitment advice: This hose corresponds with Mazda references NA01-43-980, NA01-43-980A, NA75-43-980 and NA75-43-980A. MazSpec confirms it for applicable MX-5 NA and NB models with the standard brake system. On NB-FL cars, confirm that the vehicle does not have the factory big-brake arrangement before ordering.

Other items to consider: Inspect the remaining flexible brake hoses, rigid brake pipes, banjo bolt and sealing washers, rear caliper, bleed nipple and brake-fluid condition. Hoses of a similar age may show comparable deterioration, so inspection of the opposite side is strongly recommended.

Compare the routing, length and fittings of the replacement hose before installation. Fit the hose without twisting or allowing it to rub against suspension, wheel or body components. Use new sealing washers where required at the banjo connection and tighten all fittings to the applicable specifications.
