RIDEX 313D0026 Timing Belt Guide Pulley
Replacement RIDEX fixed timing-belt guide pulley for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and Mk2.5/NB-FL 1.6 and 1.8-litre petrol models listed in the compatibility table.
The guide pulley forms part of the engine’s camshaft timing-belt drive. Its fixed, flat-faced roller guides the timing belt along the correct path and helps maintain stable belt alignment as rotation is transferred from the crankshaft to the camshafts.
This is the fixed guide or deflection pulley. It is separate from the movable timing-belt tensioner pulley, RIDEX 308T0024. One fixed guide pulley is required per applicable engine and one pulley is supplied.
Common reasons for replacement include bearing noise, rough rotation, free play, seizure, damaged running surfaces or routine renewal during a timing-belt service.

Fitment advice: This pulley corresponds with the Mazda B660-12-730 reference family and the Kia OE references shown in the reference table. It is used as the fixed guide pulley on the listed Mazda MX-5 NA and NB timing-belt engines. Compare the original pulley diameter, width, inner diameter, mounting arrangement and OE reference where the engine or timing components have previously been replaced.
Other items to consider: When changing this part, consider replacing the timing belt, movable timing-belt tensioner pulley, tensioner spring, water pump, camshaft seals, crankshaft seal and rocker-cover gasket. Timing-drive components are commonly renewed together to avoid repeated labour.
Useful tools / consumables: Socket and spanner set, crankshaft-pulley tools, torque wrench, timing-reference marks, engine-support equipment where required, seal-removal tools and suitable workshop documentation.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Advanced. Replacement requires access to the engine timing drive and accurate preservation or resetting of the crankshaft and camshaft timing positions.
Why RIDEX? RIDEX components provide a cost-effective aftermarket repair option manufactured to application-specific dimensions. This pulley is designed to restore smooth timing-belt guidance and stable belt tracking when used with correctly functioning associated timing components.
What’s in the box: One RIDEX fixed timing-belt guide pulley. The timing belt, movable tensioner pulley, tensioner spring, mounting bolt and water pump are separate unless physically present in the supplied package.
Installation notes: Allow the engine to cool and set the crankshaft and camshafts to the applicable timing position before dismantling. Remove the timing covers and record the belt routing and timing-mark positions. Release the timing-belt tension and remove the original fixed guide pulley. Inspect the mounting bolt or stud, tensioner pulley, spring, water pump and oil seals for wear or leakage. Install the replacement pulley and tighten its mounting hardware to the applicable specification. Fit and tension the timing belt using the correct Mazda procedure. Rotate the engine manually through at least two complete crankshaft revolutions and recheck all timing marks, belt seating and tension before starting the engine.
