RIDEX 83B0204 Front Right Brake Hose
Replacement RIDEX flexible brake hose for the front-right / UK offside position on Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and Mk2.5/NB-FL models fitted with the standard brake system.
The flexible brake hose connects the vehicle’s rigid hydraulic brake pipe to the moving front brake caliper. Its flexible construction permits steering and suspension movement while carrying pressurised brake fluid to the caliper.
A deteriorated hose may develop surface cracking, swelling, abrasion, corrosion around the end fittings, fluid leakage or an internal restriction. Internal hose deterioration can cause a brake to apply slowly, release incompletely or pull the vehicle towards one side.
Important: This hose fits the front-right / UK offside position. The corresponding front-left hose is RIDEX 83B0205.

Fitment advice: This hose is confirmed for the front-right position on the listed Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and Mk2.5/NB-FL models using the standard brake system. Match the original hose length, routing, M10 × 1 female connection, banjo fitting and Mazda OE reference before installation. Modified brake conversions, aftermarket calipers and non-standard brake systems may require a different hose.
Other items to consider: When replacing this hose, consider purchasing the matching front-left hose, fresh brake fluid, new banjo-bolt sealing washers, brake-pipe retaining clips, bleed-screw caps and any corroded hose brackets or rigid brake pipes.
Useful tools / consumables: Vehicle lift or trolley jack and axle stands, wheel-removal tools, flare-nut spanners, socket set, torque wrench, brake-hose clamp where appropriate, brake-bleeding equipment, drain container, brake cleaner and suitable protective gloves and eyewear.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Moderate. Replacement requires opening the hydraulic braking system, controlling brake-fluid loss and bleeding the affected brake circuit correctly after installation.
Why RIDEX? RIDEX braking components provide a cost-effective aftermarket repair option manufactured to application-specific dimensions and connection types. This hose is designed to restore a flexible, pressure-resistant hydraulic connection between the rigid brake pipe and front caliper.
What’s in the box: One RIDEX front-right flexible brake hose. Banjo bolt, sealing washers, brake fluid, retaining clips and mounting hardware are not included unless physically present in the supplied package.
Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove the front-right wheel. Clean the hose unions and surrounding area before dismantling to reduce contamination entering the brake system. Record the original hose routing and retaining-clip positions. Disconnect the rigid brake-pipe union using a suitable flare-nut spanner, then remove the hose from the caliper and brackets. Prevent the rigid pipe from twisting or becoming damaged. Install the replacement hose without twists, kinks or contact with the wheel, suspension or steering components. Use new sealing washers at the banjo connection where required and tighten all connections to the applicable specification. Turn the steering fully in both directions and move the suspension through its normal range where practical to confirm adequate hose clearance. Bleed the braking system using fresh brake fluid and check all connections carefully for leakage. Confirm a firm brake pedal and correct braking operation before returning the vehicle to use.
