RIDEX 82B0672 Front Brake Discs Pair – MX-5 Mk3 NC
Replacement pair of RIDEX internally vented front brake discs for Mazda MX-5 Mk3/NC, Mk3.5/NC-FL and Mk3.75/NC-FL2 1.8 and 2.0-litre models listed in the compatibility table.
The discs rotate with the front wheel hubs and provide the braking surfaces against which the front brake pads clamp. The resulting friction converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy into heat and slows the vehicle.
These internally vented cast-iron discs measure 289.6 mm in diameter and 22 mm thick. The ventilation channels between the braking surfaces improve heat dissipation during repeated braking.
Quantity: This MazSpec listing supplies two brake discs, sufficient for the complete front axle. The RIDEX manufacturer’s part number identifies the individual disc specification.
Common reasons for replacement include excessive wear, deep scoring, corrosion, brake judder, vibration through the steering wheel, overheating, cracking or a measured thickness below the permitted service limit.

Fitment advice: These discs correspond with Mazda references N12Y-33-25X, N12Y-33-25XA, N12Y-33-25XB, N12Y-33-25XC and NF4Y-33-25X. They are intended for the standard front brake arrangement used across the listed Mazda MX-5 Mk3/NC 1.8 and 2.0-litre variants. Compare the original disc diameter, thickness, overall height, hub-centre diameter and OE reference where the braking system has previously been modified.
Other items to consider: Brake discs should normally be replaced in axle pairs together with a new front brake-pad set. Also inspect the caliper slider pins, piston seals, pad fitting hardware, flexible brake hoses, wheel-hub faces and brake-fluid condition.
Useful tools / consumables: Vehicle lift or trolley jack and axle stands, wheel-removal tools, socket set, torque wrench, caliper-piston retraction tool, wire brush, brake cleaner, hub-cleaning tools, dial indicator where required and suitable protective gloves and eyewear.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Moderate. Replacement requires removal and secure support of the front brake calipers and careful preparation of the wheel-hub mounting surfaces.
Why RIDEX? RIDEX braking components provide a cost-effective aftermarket repair option manufactured to application-specific dimensions. These internally vented cast-iron discs are designed to restore a consistent braking surface and effective heat dissipation when installed with serviceable calipers and suitable brake pads.
What’s in the box: Two RIDEX internally vented front brake discs. Brake pads, retaining screws, caliper hardware and fitting consumables are not included unless physically present in the supplied package.
Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove both front wheels. Remove the brake calipers and support them without allowing their weight to hang from the flexible hoses. Remove the caliper carriers and existing discs. Clean the wheel-hub faces thoroughly and remove corrosion or debris that could cause disc run-out. Degrease the braking surfaces of the new discs using suitable brake cleaner. Install each disc squarely against its hub and refit the caliper carriers and calipers using the applicable tightening specifications. Fit new brake pads where appropriate and ensure the caliper sliders move freely. Refit the wheels and tighten the wheel nuts to the correct torque. Operate the brake pedal until firm before moving the vehicle, then bed in the new discs and pads according to the brake-pad manufacturer’s instructions.
