Replacement RIDEX in-line petrol fuel filter for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA 1.6 and 1.8-litre petrol models listed in the compatibility table.

The fuel filter is installed in the pressurised fuel supply line and removes dirt, rust particles and other fine contamination before the fuel reaches the injectors and engine.

Installation notes: Work only in a well-ventilated area away from sparks, flames and other ignition sources. Relieve the fuel-system pressure and disconnect the battery before opening the fuel line. Raise and support the vehicle securely, then identify and record the flow-direction marking on the original filter. Clamp the flexible fuel hoses using suitable non-damaging tools and position a container beneath the filter to collect residual petrol. Release the hose clips and remove the old filter from its bracket. Inspect the hoses for cracking, hardening or deterioration and replace them where necessary. Install the new filter with its flow arrow pointing towards the engine. Secure the hoses with suitable fuel-injection clips, refit the bracket and restore the fuel-system pressure. Check carefully for leakage before starting the engine and recheck all connections with the engine running.
