RIDEX PLUS 7O0026P Spin-On Engine Oil Filter
Replacement RIDEX PLUS spin-on engine oil filter for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA, Mk2/NB and NB-FL, and Mk4/ND and RF petrol models listed in the compatibility table.
This filter removes fine wear particles, deposits and other contamination from the engine oil before the oil circulates through the engine. Keeping the lubricant clean helps protect internal components and maintain effective oil flow during normal operation.
The filter screws directly onto the engine oil-filter mounting point on the engine block or filter head. One filter is required per vehicle and one filter is supplied.
An engine oil filter is normally renewed whenever the engine oil is changed. Replacement may also be required if the filter casing or sealing ring is damaged, oil is leaking around the filter, or contamination is suspected following engine work or deterioration of the lubricant.

For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number or component style on the part being replaced is recommended.
Other items to consider: When changing this part, you may also want to consider purchasing the correct grade and quantity of engine oil, a new sump-plug sealing washer, a replacement or magnetic sump plug, and any other filters required for the scheduled service.
Useful tools / consumables: Oil drain pan, suitable oil-filter wrench, socket set, torque wrench, funnel, protective gloves, workshop towels, brake cleaner or degreaser, and clean engine oil for lubricating the new sealing ring. Use suitable axle stands or a vehicle lift where underside access is required.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. The procedure is straightforward with suitable access, although safe vehicle support, correct oil handling and careful final leak checks are essential.
Why RIDEX PLUS? RIDEX PLUS parts are positioned as an upgraded aftermarket replacement range, offering an enhanced option where available while remaining designed to replace the original component on the applications listed.
What’s in the box: One RIDEX PLUS spin-on engine oil filter with integral sealing ring.
Installation notes: Work with the engine switched off and allow hot oil and components to cool to a safe temperature. Drain the engine oil, remove the old filter and check that its sealing ring has not remained attached to the mounting face. Clean the sealing surface, lightly coat the new filter seal with clean engine oil and install the filter in accordance with the vehicle or filter fitting instructions. Do not overtighten. Refill with the correct engine oil, start the engine, check carefully for leaks, switch off and recheck the oil level after the oil has settled.
