Replacement RIDEX front upper suspension control arm / wishbone for the front-right / UK offside position on Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA 1.6 and 1.8-litre models listed in the compatibility table.

The upper control arm connects the front subframe to the upper section of the steering knuckle. It controls the wheel’s position as the suspension moves and contributes to correct camber, steering stability and tyre contact with the road.

This is the front-right / UK offside upper arm. It is supplied as a complete assembly with the upper ball joint installed, together with the ball-joint nut and cotter pin.

ABS compatibility: The arm is suitable for both ABS and non-ABS vehicles and has the applicable mounting brackets present.

Important: The matching front-left / UK nearside arm is RIDEX 273C1727.

Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove the front-right wheel. Support the steering knuckle before separating the upper ball joint. Remove the cotter pin and ball-joint nut, then separate the joint using an appropriate tool without damaging the knuckle or ball-joint dust boot. Record the position and orientation of the original control-arm mounting hardware before removal. Install the replacement arm and initially leave the inner mounting hardware loose enough to permit movement. Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle, tighten the nut to the applicable specification and install the supplied cotter pin. The inner control-arm mounting hardware should be finally tightened with the suspension at its normal ride height to avoid preloading the bushes. Check all clearances and arrange a full wheel-alignment inspection after installation.
