Replacement RIDEX mechanical engine coolant water pump for Mazda MX-5 Mk1/NA 1.8 and Mk2/NB / Mk2.5/NB-FL 1.6 and naturally aspirated 1.8-litre petrol models.

Important fitment restriction: This pump is not the correct unit for Mk1/NA 1.6 models. MazSpec specifies a different water pump for the early 1.6 engine. The Mk2.5 1.8i Turbo is also excluded from this listing because MazSpec's confirmed application data for 1260W0119 ends at 146 PS.

The water pump circulates coolant through the engine, radiator and associated cooling circuit. Correct coolant flow is essential for maintaining stable operating temperature and preventing localised overheating.

Fitment advice: MazSpec confirms this pump for MX-5 Mk1/NA 1.8 and Mk2/NB / NB-FL 1.6 and naturally aspirated 1.8 applications through October 2005. Compare the original pump and OE reference before installation, particularly on vehicles with engine swaps or modified timing systems.

Installation notes: Allow the engine to cool completely and drain the cooling system before dismantling. Establish and mark the correct engine timing position before disturbing timing components. Install the replacement with the supplied gasket / seal, tighten fasteners evenly to the applicable specification and refit the timing system using the correct procedure. Refill with the specified coolant, bleed the cooling system thoroughly and check for leaks and correct operating temperature before normal use.
