Replacement RIDEX mechanical engine water pump for Mazda MX-5 Mk3/NC, Mk3.5/NC-FL and Mk3.75/NC-FL2 1.8 and 2.0-litre petrol models listed in the compatibility table.

The water pump circulates coolant through the engine, cylinder head, radiator and heating system. This controlled circulation removes heat from the engine and helps maintain a stable operating temperature.

The pump is mechanically driven by the engine auxiliary belt and incorporates a six-vane sheet-steel impeller measuring approximately 67 mm in diameter.

Important: This pump is supplied without the external belt pulley. The original pulley must be inspected and transferred where suitable, or replaced separately.

Installation notes: Allow the engine to cool fully before opening the cooling system. Drain the coolant into a suitable container and record the auxiliary-belt routing. Release the belt tension and remove the belt from the water-pump pulley. Hold and remove the external pulley carefully before releasing the pump fixings. Clean the mounting face without damaging the engine casting and ensure that no old sealing material remains. Install the supplied sealing ring in the correct position and fit the replacement pump squarely. Tighten the mounting bolts evenly to the applicable specification. Refit the pulley and auxiliary belt, checking all associated pulleys and the tensioner for wear. Refill with the correct coolant mixture, bleed trapped air from the system and inspect carefully for leakage. Confirm stable operating temperature, correct cabin-heater operation and proper coolant circulation after installation.
