RIDEX 654W1173 Front Wheel Bearing & Hub Kit
Replacement RIDEX front wheel bearing and hub assembly for selected Mazda 3 BM/BN and Mazda CX-3 DK models listed in the compatibility table.
The wheel bearing and hub assembly supports the front wheel and allows it to rotate smoothly while maintaining accurate positioning relative to the suspension and driveshaft. The integrated hub provides the mounting face for the brake disc and road wheel, while the magnetic sensor ring supplies wheel-speed information to the ABS and stability-control systems.
This assembly is fitted at the front wheel hub or steering-knuckle position and can be used on the left- or right-hand side where listed. One hub assembly is required per side and one assembly is supplied. Two are required when replacing both sides of the front axle.
Common symptoms of a worn wheel bearing include humming, rumbling or droning that increases with road speed, vibration through the steering, excessive wheel movement, uneven tyre wear and ABS or stability-control warning lights where the integrated magnetic sensor ring is damaged.

Fitment advice: This hub is suitable only for the Mazda applications using one of the corresponding OE reference numbers shown in the reference table. Application can vary within the Mazda 3 and CX-3 ranges according to engine, drivetrain and the hub originally installed. For imported, modified or previously repaired cars, matching the part number or component style on the part being replaced is recommended.
Other items to consider: When changing this part, you may also want to consider purchasing a replacement driveshaft nut, hub-retaining bolts, brake-disc retaining fixings, wheel studs or nuts, ABS sensor components, brake discs and pads, and the opposite-side wheel bearing where similar wear is present.
Useful tools / consumables: Vehicle lift or trolley jack and axle stands, wheel-removal tools, socket and breaker-bar set, suitable driveshaft-nut socket, torque wrench, hub puller or slide hammer where required, penetrating fluid, wire brush, brake cleaner and anti-corrosion compound.
Difficulty guide: DIY Difficulty: Advanced. Replacement requires removal of the brake and hub components, releasing the driveshaft from the hub and working with high-torque fixings. Corrosion can make removal difficult, and care is required to protect the ABS sensor ring and surrounding suspension components.
Why RIDEX? RIDEX parts are aftermarket replacement components designed to provide a cost-effective repair option for everyday vehicle maintenance and refurbishment. They are intended to replace the original component on the applications listed, helping restore function while keeping repair costs sensible.
What’s in the box: One RIDEX front wheel bearing and hub assembly with integrated bearing and magnetic ABS sensor ring. The precise supply of separate nuts or mounting bolts should be confirmed from the physical package.
Installation notes: Support the vehicle securely and remove the road wheel, brake caliper and brake disc as required. Release the driveshaft nut and hub mounting bolts, taking care not to damage the driveshaft threads, ABS wiring or steering-knuckle surfaces. Clean the mounting face thoroughly before fitting the new assembly. Avoid striking the bearing or magnetic sensor ring. Install all components squarely, use new self-locking fixings where specified and tighten the driveshaft, hub, brake and wheel fixings to the applicable vehicle specifications. Check ABS operation and wheel-bearing play after installation.
