Surface Preparation
Remove the previous gasket or sealing compound from the mating surfaces. Use the supplied Würth Industry Cleaner where appropriate to remove oil, grease, silicone residue and other contamination. Allow the cleaner to evaporate fully so the surfaces are clean and dry before applying the fresh RTV.
How to Use
Once the components and mating surfaces have been cleaned and prepared, apply a continuous and even bead of Würth Black Super RTV to the required sealing surface. Avoid excessive application that could allow sealant to enter oilways, bearings, gears or other internal mechanical components.
Assemble the components in accordance with the appropriate repair procedure and tightening sequence. Allow sufficient curing time before adding engine oil, transmission oil, coolant or other fluids and before returning the assembly to service.
Important Application Note
Only use RTV where a liquid gasket or sealing compound is appropriate for the assembly. When sealing oil pans, gearboxes and similar components, prevent excess sealant from entering the interior of the assembly. Test Industry Cleaner on sensitive plastics, rubber and painted surfaces before use, as some materials and finishes may be affected.
