Goodridge SMA0101-4C is a four-line stainless steel braided brake hose kit for Mazda MX-5 MK1 / NA and MK2 / MK2.5 NB models using the standard non-ABS braking system, designed to replace the vehicle's original flexible brake hoses.
This vehicle-specific Goodridge Premium Performance Brake Line Kit uses a PTFE inner core wrapped in a stainless steel braided outer and is supplied with stainless steel hose-end fittings. The four-line kit replaces the original flexible brake hoses at the front and rear of the vehicle.
Important Fitment Information
This kit is specifically for non-ABS Mazda MX-5 NA and NB applications. It should not be confused with the separate Goodridge kit used for MX-5 NB models equipped with the later Big Brake / Sport braking system.
Goodridge lists SMA0101-4C for non-ABS MX-5 applications covering the NA and NB generations through to 2005. Independent application data also supports both 1.6 and 1.8 litre standard-brake, non-ABS applications. Vehicles fitted with ABS or the NB Big Brake arrangement should use the appropriate alternative kit.

Fitment
This kit is suitable for applicable Mazda MX-5 MK1 / NA, MK2 / NB and MK2.5 / NB-FL models fitted with the standard non-ABS braking system. The application spans the 1.6 and 1.8 litre model ranges where the vehicle retains the compatible standard brake configuration.
On later NB models, brake specification is particularly important. Models equipped with the larger Big Brake / Sport braking system require a different Goodridge hose kit, so the existing brake configuration should be checked before ordering.
Installation
Installation requires opening the hydraulic braking system, so the system must be correctly bled using suitable brake fluid after fitting. Check hose routing carefully through the full range of steering and suspension movement and ensure each hose is free from twisting, stretching or contact with moving components.
When changing the brake hoses you may want to consider also purchasing fresh brake fluid and checking the condition of the brake pipe unions, hose retaining clips, bleed nipples, brake pads and discs.
