Goodridge SMA0103-4C is a four-line stainless steel braided brake hose kit for Mazda MX-5 MK1 / NA and MK2 / MK2.5 NB models fitted with ABS, designed to replace the vehicle's original flexible brake hoses.
This vehicle-specific Goodridge Premium Performance Brake Line Kit features a PTFE inner core wrapped in a stainless steel braided outer and is supplied with stainless steel hose-end fittings. The four supplied lines replace the original flexible brake hoses at the front and rear of the vehicle.
Important Fitment Information
This SMA0103-4C kit is specifically for Mazda MX-5 NA and NB models equipped with ABS. Goodridge separately lists SMA0101-4C for non-ABS applications, so the vehicle's ABS specification should be confirmed before ordering.
Goodridge's application catalogue lists SMA0103-4C for both 1.6 and 1.8 litre ABS-equipped MX-5 NA and NB models. On later MK2 / MK2.5 vehicles, models using the separate Big Brake / Sport braking configuration require the appropriate Goodridge Big Brake kit rather than SMA0103-4C.

Fitment
Goodridge lists SMA0103-4C for ABS-equipped Mazda MX-5 1.6 NA and NB models from 1990-2005 and 1.8 NA and NB models from 1993-2005. This covers applicable MK1, MK2 and MK2.5 vehicles fitted with ABS and the compatible standard braking arrangement.
This kit should not be confused with the non-ABS SMA0101-4C kit. Later NB models fitted with the larger Big Brake / Sport brake configuration also use a different Goodridge kit, so brake specification should be checked where the vehicle's original configuration is uncertain.
Installation
Installation requires opening the hydraulic braking system, so the system must be correctly bled using suitable brake fluid after fitting. Check each hose for correct routing and clearance through the full range of steering and suspension movement, ensuring the hoses are not twisted, stretched or able to contact moving components.
When changing the brake hoses you may want to consider also purchasing fresh brake fluid and checking the condition of the brake pipe unions, hose retaining clips, bleed nipples, brake pads and discs.
